Welcome back Near-Festers,
Soon I'll be posting info for the upcoming October 15th Friday night jam.
Wow, our 8th Near-Fest and our 7th jam in the the spacious entertainment building. I hope Mr. Mike can get the gods on his side again and bring the same weather we had for the spring fest.

BTW, a fellow Near-Fester approached me at the last MIT flea and said someone mentioned the jam was just for guys. Who came up with that crap?
I just want to state:
The Near-Fest jam is open to ALL musically inclined humans playing ALL kinds of music. If you play or sing we want you!

'Nuff said.
Stay tuned brothers and sisters!

Hello, would someone be kind enough to let me know if your are selling tickets for the upcoming Near-fest in October 2010.  My husband and I will be traveling from NJ and would like to be able to buy tickets as vendoers.  Thanks so much and keep enjoying the rest of the summer!

Check out this posting.  I don't believe the contact information has changed:

Or contact Mr. Mike, W1RC.

I tried contacting Mr. Mike but maybe I have the wrong email address for him.....I am unable to get any info on how to get tickets for this year's Near-fest.  We are located in New Jersey and are not able to come to any hamfests in that area to purchase the tickets.  Thanks for your help

Soooooo,
About the jam.

I'll kick out the usual questions:
Who's coming?
Are ya gonna play, sing or both?
Whatta ya wanna play?
and whatcha bringin' fer equipment?

If you look at past jam posts you'll get a sense of the format (very loose) and most of your question will be answered.

For starters see: http://near-fest.com/index.php?topic=465.0

http://near-fest.com/index.php?topic=521.0

Can't wait to see and hear you all again.

More soon,

Bri

Hey, Brian and folks

Unfortunately due to a poorly timed gig, I won't be able to make it to the hamfest this October.  Have a great jam and we'll see you in the spring.

At the risk of sounding predictable... I'll be there.

I'm good for Bass and optionally scary backing vocals. Grin

I can try to come up with a song wish list if needed.

So far we've got the following degenerates to assault your ears.
They are:

Brian, your host (throat gargle with out of tune guitar)
John Derrico (Bass, guttural nuance)
Cliffy (guitar, slide)
Rick (Twang-o-matic gui-tar, Axl diesel voice, one legged drumz)
Adam 1 (Radio-matic keyboards, Drumz, wok-fi {kinda sounds dirty don't it?} )
Adam 2 (,,,,ohh my God look at the size of his "Farfisa Organ")
Jenny, Ben and Andrea (Crazy volume, feed to the Wok-Fi)

Possible guests may include:
Tyler (drums a-plenty, Whore moaning)
Sting (crap, who knew he's a HAM) Wait.. Did I say Sting?.. I meant Stin-Gee.
Elvis (Don;t laugh; It could happen. It could!!)
The guy who looks like Katy Perry but sounds like Alvin Chipmunk.

Hopefuls:

Raj (loud-ass guitar and flavor.)
Geoff (Hammond-cheese, Winwood voice)
Bob Spak (Accordion, bass)
Harmonica guy
John... ? (no really. His last name is question mark) Guitar

Can't make it this time but will be big time missed:
Scott (Bass)
Greg (Keyboards)
HuhHuh
HuhHuh
HuhHuh

Who else is coming or not?

lemme know,

Bri

I believe I'll be coming and camping Friday night.
I'm a HS music teacher and play piano/organ/sax in a Seacoast area band.  I'll be bringing my board and amp, possibly my alto sax as well.  I'm happy to play whatever style folks want to play.

I have P.A. stuff as well if needed.

  Looking forward to it.

That sounds fantastic Lonnie,
I'm looking forward to playing with you and anyone else that comes.

As for P.A. stuff I'm pretty sure Ben and Jenny have that covered.
However, please check this forum as we get closer to the Fest as there might be changes.

Thanks,

Bri
